MAN DETAINED, SEVERAL PEOPLE INJURED AFTER A STABBING AT London Bridge and armed police opening fire on a man following the incident on Friday afternoon just before 2pm in what police have said is a terrorist incident and the man was alllegedly wearing a hoax suicide vest, The suspect died at the scene.

A man has been detained by police and number of people have been injured following a stabbing near London Bridge.


Sky News has reported at least one civilian has been killed.
An eyewitness has told Yahoo News UK she saw a woman repeatedly stabbed in a nearby building.
One video from the scene showed a number of people, including police officers, fighting with a man on the ground. The police can then be seen stepping back before appearing to fire a single shot at the man, who then remains motionless.
A police statement said: “Police were called at 1:58pm to a stabbing at premises near to London Bridge.
“Emergency services attended, including officers from the Met and the City of London Police.
“A man has been detained by police. We believe a number of people have been injured. Further info to follow.”
Prime Minister Boris Johnson said: “I’m being kept updated on the incident at London Bridge and want to thank the police and all emergency services for their immediate response.”
‘I heard the screams’Yahoo News UK was told by one witness that the incident originated at Fishmonger’s Hall, a conference and events venue on the River Thames near London Bridge.
Coralie Ayala, who was working at the event, told Yahoo News over WhatsApp: “I was in the building when I heard the screams and one girl ran towards me because she got stabbed in her arm and everyone inside the conference started to panic.”

Ayala said she didn’t know how many people were involved in the incident.“I couldn’t see. I heard it was only one,” she said. “I heard about seven gun shots while I was evacuating the building. The gun shots were outside the building.”
She said she saw “two, three people stabbed. One minor and the other two were proper bleeding”.
‘Number of shots fired’Witnesses described a scene of panic around London Bridge, moments after the incident.
Witness Kelby McNally, who works on Lower Thames Street near London Bridge, said she initially thought a fire alarm had gone when she saw “loads of people just running”.
She said: “There were loads of people just running, I thought it was a fire alarm or something, and then I saw two girls from my office who told me not to go back there.
“I asked what had happened, and they said they had heard gunshots and now everyone is running.”
BBC correspondent John McManus told BBC News that he had heard several gunshots on London Bridge.
“There appeared to be a fight going on on the other side of the bridge, with several men attacking one man,” he said.
“Police then quickly arrived, including armed police, and then a number of shots were fired at this man,” Mr McManus told BBC News.
